Developing product plans and major action plans are routine in most
organizations.
Standard procedures and practices should include the following:
- Ensure that all product plans and action plans are performed in
priority order in concert with the competitive strategy of the business;
- Assign a time table and a person responsible for completing each task;
- Set high standards and measure results;
- Ensure that compensation and/or other rewards are tied to results.
The resources of the business should be allocated in concert with
forecasted product profitability and, more specifically, with the business
strategy.
