Corporate (Group) Executive Summary
The purpose of the executive summary is to highlight the most important
aspects of the company and its strategy. The executive summary should be
brief and to the point. Because it is somewhat redundant to the information
presented later in the document, the overview should be no longer than one or
two pages.
The overview should include:
- A brief description of the company and its environment.
- A listing of the corporate businesses along with a short
descriptive paragraph for each business. The brief description should
include information typically found in a business unit mission statement.
For example, identify what products and services are provided to what type
of customers, and state the competitive advantage the business is trying to
achieve and sustain.
- The competitive advantages of the corporation (group) in priority
order.
- The competitive disadvantages of the corporation (group) in
priority order.
- The overall strategy of the company (group).
- Conclusions about the corporation (group) and its environment.
- The next steps the company (group) plans to make in order to
maximize results.
